Gil remembers, as a teenager, wanting to move to California to learn how to record and make records, after seeing advertisements in magazines at the time. Although it wasn't to be, he did have the chance to learn to read and write music at a young age. Playing trumpet in the high school band then later picking up the guitar, he soon found he had the knack to organize musicians and start playing the schools and clubs in and around Galveston Texas.
As time drew on with the passing of high school into the college years, he still was playing all genres of music, including Jazz, Country, Rock, R&B, Disco and Tejano in and around South Texas. As with many musicians of the time he started playing the small local clubs eventually graduating to larger venues and schools. He has played so many proms, fraternities and sororities that he cannot remember the number of times he played those gigs.
Weeks turned into months and eventually years passed with a full family life. He has always had an interest in electronics which progressed to computers, becoming a Systems Analyst full time but still craving the music scene. Eventually he tied the two together (computers and music) and never looked back. Digital music recording had come of age and he was there right along with it. Eventually recording local bands and rappers, he expanded his computer equipment and built his own workstation for his recording studio.
Varied, much like his music, he recorded all genres of music as they came, including karaoke and radio voiceovers. Things were going well until 2008 when his recording studio and Galveston Island was hit by Hurricane Ike, inundating his studio with over 6 feet of salt water. All was lost including his full time job as a Systems Analyst. But he didn't let that keep him down so he rebuilt in Dickinson Texas where he now records in his own private recording studio.
Now with his new recording studio, Gil has collaborated with many people across the world via the internet and the use of social networking for musicians such as IndabaMusic.com and Kompoz. He is also a member of other such sites and has recorded Lead Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Drums, Synth and Keyboards and much more for others world wide. He is also the member of a virtual band who named themselves Gypsies in Cyberspace, playing pop rock and folk. These members are spread across the globe and were inspired by the Peace Partners music collaboration in 2007. The members of the Gypsies span several countries including Scotland, Australia and the United States. Gil continues to collaborate with them as well as others across the globe.
There's no mistake Gil keeps moving ahead with his plans in the music business, building his new recording studio and recording solo artists. You see, some of his frequent artists asked him how he felt about creating a record label and distributing their music. After doing some research, Gil changed the name of his recording studio and made plans for digital distribution. Currently there are EPs, albums and singles in production.
