About Reed Dunn - Artist and Musician

Reflecting upon a memory, after he was asked what your influences are and reasoning behind playing the guitar, Reed Dunn responded that he, picked up the guitar at the age of 6 years old and now, thought he had mistakenly mentioned the idea, that one day he could be on the radio with his counterparts. at the age of 6 and saying counterparts, the people around him laughed, sighed and collectively agreed that it was a phase of idolization my, were they ever wrong.

Reed Dunn

Reed was born in grand Junction Colorado, God's country as most have called it, in June of 1979. He was adopted at the age of one and flown to Virginia on his first birthday. Though he had started playing the guitar he had picked up other instruments, as well. He started playing the clarinet to appease his father's woes of him becoming an angst ridden, guitar-playing teenager, which happened anyway. He had also found a great release in playing the drums, bass, and piano.

He started writing poems around the seventh grade or around the age of 12 years old. His English teacher had noticed a poem he had written as he was supposed to be working on an assignment. He was nervous as she picked it up and read it, she simply set it back on his desk and said, "you need to see me after class". As he exited the classroom the teacher stopped him and asked how often he had written poetry and he said, "Only when I'm bored," she laughed and requested a poem from him every day until he was no longer her student, he cordially agreed.

At this point Reed began to think, "I can write poetry and play guitar", "what if I put the two together," he did and had written his very first song entitled Forever Fly in September of 1992. He continues to write and play guitar, aiding if needed with other bands playing drums, singing back up or just playing along.

He recorded his first song when he was about 13 in his bedroom with two boom box style radios. He practiced in between work and school sometimes for 8 hours and had yet to play in front of anyone. He played his song Forever Fly 4 years later for his friends and he was pleased to have entertained them and continued to play and write to this day. He recorded his first demo in January of 2001 including Don't Worry, Mid-Night, Aid, Broken Promises and I Believe.

He is currently working on the release of a 3 song E.P. Being a full time student and working full time it's hard to find the time for him to record as often as he would like to, although he is recording on a consistent basis. He is currently working on four songs with a burning desire to release this E.P.

He is grateful for the people he has reached with his music and appreciates all the fans he has acquired over the years and hopes to continue pleasing more and more people every time they listen, he wants to reach more people and knows that working with Gil this is achievable. So he thanks all of you that listen and hopes you all enjoy.
